Brenda could therefore be said to be a person who had a well regulated life that was almost constantly made up of the same processes, as Persico and Bourgeron (2012) noted to be very usual of children with autism. Brendas mothers attitude might have impacted on Brenda in some way as she would always sit by the white grand piano with her face frowned. This was exactly what h er mother did most of the time, out of frustration.Brenda was a very sensitive person, who would get attracted and distracted by the slightly noise that passed by her. For example, even sounds of cracks could arrest her attention. Perhaps such lack of attention, coupled with Brendas inability to have clear vision payable to the exotropia, which had made her eyes to be deviated outward (Chorn and Steiner, 2014) is what had made her mother made some very derogatory point outs of her life. She had even told her husband, I cant operate like this much longer (Oates, 1980). This is because in her opinion, all she had accomplished was nothing more than failure. But the big issue is whether Brenda was that worse to deserve that kind of remark from her own mother. Indeed, Brenda could play the piano like a 16 year old professional who had taken piano lessons for years. But she had no such development in music and was still only 6. Whenever she sat by the piano, she would only be seen run ning her fingers gently over the keyboard

The Food Safety Personal Statement Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
The Food Safety - Personal Statement ExampleIn addition, most time should be set aside during orientation to present and briefly review the pamphlet, and its importance, with the incoming students. The letter to the Dean would take a direct and paid tone. I understand that he is a busy man and I would go directly to the issues of magnitude, importance, and ease of reducing the risk. I would use statistics from the Center for unsoundness Control and a short quote from the US Department of Agriculture that shows students have unique needs. I would impress upon the Dean that by following a few common sense rules we give the bounce greatly reduce the cases of food borne illness on campus. Though the letter impart be addressed to the Dean, it would be reasonable to assume that other senior staff and faculty members will read it.As the Dean of the College of Agriculture he is probably aware of the umpteen pamphlets that already exist on this subject and may view it as a redundant effo rt. However, I have reviewed several of these and they are indite for professionals, homemakers, and commercial message use. I was unable to locate one aimed at students. The reason that a new pamphlet is needed is to target the students who have a unique life-style and do not have a health or science background. As well as giving students something to read, it would highlight the issue and put it in the forefront of the students minds. This program would benefit the University as well as the students. It would remove some burden from the overtaxed health care system and result in a healthier student body. More importantly, it would reduce student absence, which directly affects student performance. I plan to appeal to his sense of responsibility to the school and the student body, and will approach him as the one person who is in a position to have the imagination to do something about this problem.I expect the Dean to grow the important issues of cost and school resources. The savings to the health care system would offset the minimal cost of the pamphlets and the orientation time. Since the pamphlet is an informational tool, it could be designed and written by a student in the Department of Food Safety and approved by the staff. There would be almost no cost in getting the pamphlet to the printer. Printing costs would be minimal and the information could also be included in an e-mail. The goal is to present information to the students that they can use and heighten student awareness of the issue.I expect the Dean, as overseer of the Food Safety Department, will immediately recognize the importance of the upshot and the need for action. The first paragraph should get his interest by the statistics and explaining the students elevated risk. However, he may disagree on the practicality of my approach. I will need to pretermit some portion of the letter persuading him that the students would read the information and make use of it. I would point out simil ar successful programs that have dealt with safe put forward and dorm safety. As a way of offering an emotional appeal, I would show my commitment by concluding the letter with an offer to volunteer my work to the program in any way that I was able to contribute.Food Safety Proposal Materials

These issues caused the tone and the language with which the two used to express themselves. From the story, it is clear that Henry IV and Gregory VII chose to use the language they used because they were wounded by pride and large ego. With pride and ego, Gregory VII says that of the pope alone all princes shall kiss the feet. This statement signifies how the pope was burning with so much pride and ego. Similarly, Henry IV had his own pride and ego that drove him to want to retaliate. In his letter to Gregory VII, he says, Hildebrand, at present not pope but faithlessly monk. Here, he condemns Gregory as a usurper.Secondly, the two leaders chose to use the words they used because they wanted to receive the ceremony and purity at the top of the medieval hierarchy. With the exception of Yongye, these stocks are all industry leaders and corporate entities with large asset bases and established chore/consumer products. I chose these stocks because I believe that they should not only outperform the market but also limit downside risk to preserve capital. Due to the requirements of the assignment, I chose my accession points for the stock purchases late in order to capitalize on make my position through purchasing at a lower initial price. oer the course of the investment cycle, from 5/27/2011 to 6/2/2011, the rate of return of each of these stocks faeces be seen charted in comparison to the S&P 500 Index, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and the TSX Index. As can be seen in the chart above (from Yahoo Finance), YONG outperformed all stocks including th e index over this period by a wide margin, up over 30% on the period. Unfortunately, due to the weight of YONG in my portfolio vs. the other equities, this gain was not enough to offset losses, particularly in OMX which underperformed the Indexes by around 10% in this same period. AAPL outperformed the Indexes by a small margin, around 2% during this period. GOLD tracked the DJIA with very little divergency from the Indexes during this timeframe. I attempted a second purchase of OMX during this period to average down my entry price per share after the decline. T equal 1 bargain and Sell Orders executed over the course of the project. Table 2 Buy and Sell Orders executed over the course of the project. Table 3 Portfolio trading procedure over the course of the project. Investment Analysis In building my portfolio for the trading project, I wanted to implement the basics of a balanced portfolio by building positions in different sectors for the purpose of diversification. My inter est in YONG was for rapid growth and in expectation of press release activity favorable to the company, and the stock was able to produce 30% gains over the course of trading which I locked in by selling a portion of my initial investment. The GOLD position can be considered as a hedge and also as a long-term investment in the future of the mining industry. My analysis of Randgold indicated that by owning the real(a) real estate in which the gold and other precious mineral reserves were located, this was a significant and appreciable asset of the company that indicated an undervalued state in the appreciating precious metals market. Furthermore, the company has the facilities for R&D in the precious metals mining sector which few other companies possess. In similar motivation, I chose Apple (AAPL) because of the principal effect of the iPhone, iPad, and other products in reflecting consumer lifestyle innovation through technology. I am impressed with Apples minimal debt load as a company, their international expansion prospects for product sales, and the financial position of the company as reflected in cash on the books, growing sales, expanding markets, etc. This company is the largest in the conception by market capitalization and the benchmark of the NASDAQ index, outperforming on the ability

Individual assinment of leveraging information technology for business advantage - Essay showcaseLess time is wasted with e-tickets for both consumers and producers. E-tickets keep many ticket-issuing steps and thus the process speed is faster for every passenger. Airlines not only save paper ticket costs but also operating costs. Travel agents also save time by skipping the process of printing paper tickets for the consumers. Consumers, on the other hand, spend less time waiting in line for check-ins. One only needs to provide a photo ID at the drome to get the boarding pass directly, without any busy paper work. Alternatively, and more than efficiently, one can simply do advance check in online at home and print the boarding pass on the day of travel. For business people on tight schedules, this would be extremely convenient. They would no longer demand to worry about having not enough time to wait in long lines to do check-in. An analysis of corporate governance in the GCC countries and the impact of sharia law on it - Literature come off ExampleOther than the parties within the organization, corporate governance is also concerned with the relationships that exist among the stakeholders of an organization and its impact to the achievement of the organizations goals and objectives. In red-brick business organizations, major external business stakeholders include trade creditor, customers, suppliers, sh arholders, debtors and the general public members who are directly or indirectly affected by the smokes activities (Maria and Thomas, 1999). in that respect are also some internal stakeholders in every organization that too need to be taken care of by the management. These include the employees, board of directors, executives and management itself. The external stakeholders need more attention than the internal stakeholders since they are the one who help in meeting the expectations of the external ones.Th ere are many debates held by scholars, researchers and modern economist on how economic well being is impacted by the corporate governance existing in a country or a certain trade block. The issue of concern here is the welfare of shareholders, who are the most sensitive external stakeholders in every corporation. Majority of these debaters argue that there is need to establish regulatory policies to ensure that companies have given the necessary priority to the needs of shareholders. To them economy energy in any country depends strongly on the ability of that country to attract many domestic and international investors. This can only be achieved if shareholders are satisfied hence attracting more investors or they can even increase their investment by increasing capital (Becht, 1997),There issue of concern in this study is basically on how corporate governance has been taking place in different parts of the world with more emphasis put on the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries

Executive Summary of Dreamliner Project Essay Example for Free
Executive Summary of Dreamliner formulate EssayWith an innovative design visu every(prenominal)y appealing to passengers, the Dreamliner enables Boeing customers to pleasantly surprise their passengers. The Dreamliner plans to be so visually appealing that at least some passengers bequeath choose an air carrier-based solely on its engagement of Dreamliners. The Dreamliner result have other features that make the aircraft attractive to customers as well, not the least of which is that it will be much quieter than almost senior aircraft. Noise whitethorn not be an issue in every market however all airlines battle noise restrictions and abatement procedures. The Dreamliner promises to be of benefit in this regard. Project Description The goal of the project is to design product and process for manufacturing the Boeing 7E7 Dreamliner. The project will involve incremental monitoring of the 787 Dreamliner, so that approaching problems with the innovative aircraft will be appar ent before the project progresses too far. Clearly, the Dreamliner project is a huge undertaking in which there are myriad opportunities to digress from the give tongue to history devised at the outset. As an example, there are more than 100 companies abstruse with the Dreamliner production and development in Australia alone (Hopkins, 2005), and the Dreamliner will not tear down be assembled there. The assembly plant is expected to cost $1 billion and to require the labor of 800 to 1,200 employees at an average salary of $65,000 each (Cronan, 2003). Problem line of reasoning The void that the Dreamliner intends to fill holds at least two facets, one within Boeing and the other within the commercial air passenger industry. As indicated before, nearly all Boeings customers have had difficulty in the past(a), and two more, Delta and Northwest, recently joined the list of large, established airlines operating under Chapter 11. Fuel costs constitute the single greatest concern for th ese airlines at present, though fuel costs alone do not account for the costs of less than astute management over the past decade or so. These and other problems within the airline industry have led to difficulties at Boeing as well, in that airline customers have not purchased as m any an(prenominal) new aircraft in recent years as in the past. Boeing seeks to rectify this situation with the Dreamliner. As Boeing project manager of the 787 Dreamliner, it will be valuable to correctly identify the chain of the project and adhere to the defined view. Otherwise, the project easily could become susceptible to creep and expand in unplanned shipway (Gray and Larson, 2005). As Boeing project manager of the 787 Dreamliner, it will be critical to be particularly watchful for signs of creep because so many other companies are involved in the 787 Dreamliner project. Of course Boeing has final say and control of the project however it can expect many of the companies involved to voice ideas and opinions, some of which can be quite valuable.Hopkins (2005) reports that literally hundreds of Australian companies are involved with the Dreamliner another author reports that Vought and Alenia North America have finalized arrangements forming a joint venture for the specific end of joining and integrating fuselage sections manufactured in a variety of European locations (7E7 production arrangements, 2004). Mission Justification Boeings Vision 2016 mission statement spells out terce business strategies (Arkell, 2005). These three strategies are Run healthy core businesses Leverage core strengths Open new frontiers (Arkell, 2005).The Dreamliner will make a positive theatrical role to the health of Boeings core business, and in so doing leverage the companys core strengths. It certainly opens new frontiers, in that there is not another aircraft like it. Airbus currently is retrofitting an older model to take on an appearance similar to the Dreamliners, however the Airbus offering will not be able to offer the fuel savings assertable in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. High-Level Scope Gray and Larson (2005) provide a Project Scope Checklist containing the project objective, deliverables, milestones, technical requirements, limits and customer reviews. This certainly is a broad sufficient scope without being so broad that the 787 Dreamliner project manager could go astray with it. At the same time, the checklist can be used as a guide to assessing Boeings approach to the project to date. It likely does not have all the technical matters in place yet however the first several requirements of the checklist already are in place and have been for some time. Chung-Suk and Gibson (2001) recommend the use of a project definition rating index to assess the appropriateness of the scope of any large project. Measuring Project SuccessThere are several approaches and measures that as project manager can use to measure schedule progress to determine the success of the 787 Dreamliner project. There are several orders for the aircraft, likely with significant deposits attached to them. Failing to complete the project on time has the capability of negating at least a portion of the contracts that the company already has for the 787 Dreamliner. The product itself also can be used as a point of sound judgement of the projects success. Some detractors claim that Boeings reliance on plastic, for weight reduction and therefore greater fuel efficiency, is unfounded and unproven. As the Boeing 787 Dreamliner project manager, a plan will be devised for assessing project success with regard to using plastics before rolling out the first production model. Taverna (2004) reports that Boeing will use Dassault Systemes Product Lifecycle Management system in managing the design and production processes for Boeings 7E7 Dreamliner. The life cycle management system outlines the role of the key element to be included in this project that includes the virtual(pren ominal) product development concept, the virtual product management system, the virtual reality center, and the Falcon Global Test Bed (Taverna, 2004).Application of Best Practices Two beaver practices in project management that could be applied to the project to ensure its success is to maintain tight control by the project manager on the various aspects of the project and to control the number and complexity of changes allowed in design or production processes after the start of the project. Hollmann (2003) discusses the pressures that several decades of downsizing and outsourcing have caused for many industries. Boeing has had difficulty in this area already, though its experience was several years ago.Boeing decreased its workforce so drastically that it could not efficiently take proceeds of new government contracts and had to hire inexperienced, unproven design force play. Though Boeing will be outsourcing much of the subassembly work associated with the Dreamliner project, it maintains its own design and project management personnel to provide greater accountability and incentive for bringing the project in on time and within budget. Boeing also practices astute change control in all its projects, and there is no reason to believe that the Dreamliner project will prove to be an exception. One of the greatest threats to any project is failing to by correctlys define it at the outset and changing aspects of it well after it begins. It is important to segment the market so that you can clearly identify the kind of customers you are dealing with. In most cases Barclays bank target people with average income because this is a class where many people fall.It is challenging for a bank to differentiate itself from other competitors because whenever the bank introduces a marketing strategy other banks will automatically copy. Furthermore, networking will assist the employees to deliver and serve customers in the shortest time possible because they accessing information or any other requirement they may be looking for. This business relationship will analyse the procedures of networking and the recommendation to the manager of the company (Chary, 2009. p 119)Introduction and backgroundWagga Independent Grocer ies is a re identifyable company offering technological services to its customers. The company is trusted by its customers due to its quality services they offer at affordable prices. Furthermore, the company has been able to survive stiff competition in the market because of its quality services they offer which has enabled the company to build a positive image with its customers in the market (Kurtz, 2008. p 123)FindingsThe networking plan has been divided into quadruplet builds so that it can ensure proper installation in the company. This installation will help the departments to share some important information regarding the performances of the company.DurationNetworking procedures have been divided into four phases. This phases comprised of phase one which is cooking and design. This phase is waited to last for 6 weeks with activities As dismission on. We expect to start our honk at this phase in which we will deal with technical requirements design and we will be crit ical reviewing the functional designed frequently (Polkowski, 2009. p 63).In the second phase, we will deal with preparation for installations. This is a crucial stage in which will be ordering various equipment for installation work at, we will also carryout system prototyping and pre-configuration and testing. We expect all these process to last for 8 weeks and we will carryout activity B, C and D.The next step we will be taking is the installation. This will be in phase 3 and we plan to carryout installation because by then we will be having all the necessary materials in hand. We will also deal with send installation and documentation set up to ensure that all the departments are network in the company. This phase will last for 10 weeks and the activities in this phase comprised of G, E, and F. Finally, we will carryout post-installation which will comprised a lot of work such as orientation of staff on how to use the system, and then post installation review on the performanc es of the new system and finally, the formalization of the system in the company. This phase will also last for 7 weeks. The diagram below summarise the altogether process of networking (Lawrence Kimberg, 2009. p 74)ConclusionIn conclusion, the implementation process of the company will be carried out as planned because all the necessities have been put in place. Since I am a project manager, I would request the finance department to release the funds to be used in this process in a timely manner so that we can implement the project immediately as planned.According to the estimates, it shows that in case of disruption of the operation, the company will incur an average of $ 30, 000* 7 = $ 210,000. The system managers have an alternative of this, the activity H (site installation) can be taken by another company though there would be additional cost of $ 80,000, and the period will reduce to 3 weeks instead of 7 weeks. The total expenses in the second picking is $ 80,000 * 3 = $ 240,000. This indicates that the option of system administrator is expensive though the time will be reduced to three weeks. The action I am going to recommend is that the management of the company should weigh a different of 4 weeks and a different of $ 30, 000. From there the management of the company will be in a position to come up with a sound decision (Karel, 2009. p 424). fine Path Method of project planning.Executive summaryThis musical composition seeks to address the project management of Wagga Independent Groceries Company which we intend to network all departments in the company so as to facilitate easy flow of information. The main aim of this report is prepared for the senior management of the Wagga Independent Groceries to review the planned process of networking the companys department. Furthermore, the report will advise the management on what is supposed to be done and the date of implementation.Introduction and backgroundDue to complexity of the company and its h eavy operation, the management of the company have proposed that the project planning be carried out before the actual implementation takes place in the company. We have chosen with my team and under the instruction of our manager to use Critical Path Method when preparing this report.Steps in critical path method of project planningTo network the company effectively, there should be procedures to be followed. In this method every participant in the implementation must have clear role to carry out in the project. The following diagram shows how the implementation will be carried out.The letters (A, B, C, D, E and F) represent the activities shown in the above report. The weeks also indicate the duration taken to complete the project in every phase. In this method, there is critical part which needs to be identified and it concern the period required in order to complete implementation. The critical part can be identified by determining various parameters such as the earliest time of implementation and the expected time in which project will be completed. This is very important for purposes of mentoring the actions taken so that the actual result can be compared with the planned result (Martinich, 2009. p 89).Question 3 Plant LocationThe best coordinates will depends on so many factors such as infrastructure, to make the appropriate decision the manager needs to determine the demand of the materials in the company. It is not profitable for the company to move long distance when it can make less profit. There are various problems which are associated with the POM-QM for Windows especially when the places are scattered. It does not give the appropriate solution because they are based on estimation. It is better for the company to look for other alternative instead than using POM-QM for Windows. The method also requires somebody who understands the procedures well so that will calculate the relevant answers.Question 4 Transportation problemIt has been tradition for commutation office in rural Victoria to co-ordinate all the shipment of blood into 5 hospitals. From the auditors report it shows that the manual technique being used is not cost effective. Due to this the management of the hospital has decided to implement other methods such as mathematical modelling so that they can minimise the cost.infirmary 1infirmary 2Hospital 3Hospital 4Hospital 5SupplyBank 1$50.00$50.00$ nose candy.00$150.00$200.00250Bank 2$70.00$70.00$30.00$30.00$100.00100Bank 3$50.00$50.00$40.00$120.00$150.00150Demand801202205040Hospital 1 and 2 spend the same amount in transport in blood from the three Bank Blood though their demand varies. This means that Hospital 1 is not effective as compared to Hospital 2. In general Hospital 3 is very effective because of high demand yet they spend equal amount with Hospital 1 and 2. On the other, supply from the three Blood Banks varies with Bank 1 delivering large amount of Blood. It will be economical if the 5 hospital utilis e the supply from Bank 1. Hospital should also consider the storage devices available before making it decision. The hospitals need to analyse the blood group from every Blood Bank so that those with the same blood group can consider leaving so as to reduce the expenses. They should also analyse the usage of blood in the hospital to avoid transporting excess blood to the hospital. Besides, the hospital can team up with the Red Cross that has created a blood bank for emergencies so that they can be transporting whenever a need arises in the hospital.Work CitedClark, G.
